THE PROJECT CHALLENGE

Struggling with the need to manage scores of websites across the globe, Discovery Networks International turned to T9L to create and manage their websites centrally. They expected T9L to work incessantly and finish their global website project in record time. The project was spread across five continents covering thirteen different languages.

OUR SOLUTION

We took on the challenge to deliver a very ambitious project.

  • As a first step recruited a team of hundred developers/project managers for the project within the first month.
  • We decided to work round-the-clock in three shifts each with a project manager and deputy project manager and a set of senior/junior programmers mapped to the websites of suitable time zones.
  • We coded custom project management software to centrally track the website development and deployment process. THE PROJECT CHALLENGE

Simple representation of a complicated process of comparing hotel availability and rates from various providers. The promoters wanted to create a very simple workflow and an uncomplicated looking website that encouraged users to readily accept their website. Technically the system had to work flawlessly across the sections and integrations.

OUR SOLUTION

Our approach to the project was as follows:

  • One of our biggest challenges was to create a system that does not scare the users away and is easy to adapt to. We created a very simple and clean interface summarizing the entire process in just three steps.
  • We chose open-source technologies to save licencing cost for UrgentRoom.com.
  • We coded the entire application exceeding their expectation in terms of design, usability, technology and implementation.
  • We delivered the project on time and within their budget.

The old website of Brilliant Windows was a very limited website with a basic branding and poor usability. Despite them being one of the biggest in business, their online presence did not reflect that. They wanted us to strengthen their web presence in terms of brand, design and technology.

Our approach to the project was as follows:

  • We reworked their brand and simplified their design making it reflect it’s credibility.
  • We recreated the technology bits to ensure a fast and robust E-Commerce platform giving them complete control of the platform with ample flexibility.

THE PROJECT CHALLENGE

In order to remind people of their favourite shows, Discovery Channel, SE Asia created NeverMissTv.com a few years ago. The portal used to provide email reminders to the registered viewers for their specified programs. It was a very difficult platform to use and was full of complicated features. Discovery Channel, India wanted to create something similar but will a lot less complication and SMS integration brought into the system for instant reminders.

OUR SOLUTION

Our approach to the project was as follows:

  • We simplified the profiling process by reducing the registration form and dividing the information/knowledge collection process over many transactions.
  • We chose the brand (Never Miss Discovery) for the system.
  • We worked with Java Technologies for this project for creating a messaging workflow with Email/SMS engines at the end of the process.
  • The system has schedulers and caters to individual preferences at the minutest levels.
  • The SMS gateway was provided by Mobile 365 (now Sybase 365) .
  • Discovery SE Asia dropped NeverMissDiscovery.com and moved to NeverMissDiscovery. Then the system was deployed Asia wide.
CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A detailed system for entering program schedules and managing profiles and administration worked as the engine behind the solution. The success of the system depended on fault-free and on-time messaging for thousands of registered users.

THE PROJECT CHALLENGE

This project was a big challenge considering the sheer size of the existing database and the volume of revenue generating traffic on the website. The existing website had excellent search engine rankings and the promoters did not want to compromise on it therefore care had to be taken to ensure the directory structures and page names were intact. At the same time, the new website had to be cutting edge with an international design and technology

OUR SOLUTION

Our approach to the project was as follows:

  • As a first step we had to map the existing website complete with page names and the existing directory structure.
  • We created a content publishing platform to create new pages in exactly the way the existing website functions.
  • Aside from the basic functionality, we added loads of new features complete with several engines with many more features being coded right now.
  • The first phase of the project has been made live, the next phases continue.
